
Woodall to DL, Fitzgerald Transferred to Mobile

MOBILE, AL -- The Mobile BayBears and Arizona Diamondbacks have announced that on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 RHP Bryan Woodall has been placed on the 7-Day Disabled List and RHP Justin Fitzgerald has been transferred to Mobile from Extended Spring Training.
Woodall exited his last start on April 28, 2014 after just 2.2 innings. He was credited with his second loss of the year, allowing two runs on two hits while walking three and striking out two. In five starts with the BayBears in 2014 Woodall is (0-2), allowing just seven earned runs on 22 hits while walking six and striking out 18. His 2.59 ERA is his third lowest number in that category in seven seasons.
Fitzgerald enters his seventh season of professional ball in 2014. The righty was signed to a minor league contract by the Diamondbacks this off-season. The 28-year-old spent the 2013 season in the Giants organization, posting (2-8) record with a 5.61 ERA in 77.0 innings with Triple-A Fresno.
Fitzgerald will join the BayBears pitching staff in the bullpen. RHP Bradin Hagens will start in Woodall's rotation spot on Sunday, May 4, 2014 against the Birmingham Barons.
