Dayton Dragons News Release

The Dragons will get a boost in power from the right side with the addition of 1B Travis Wong to the 25-man roster.

Wong began his 2003 season in the Advanced A Carolina League with the Potomac Cannons. The 6'6" 235 pound first baseman started off slowly, hitting .176 with 2 HR and 12 RBI in 21 games after jumping from the Gulf Coast League, where he spent his first pro season in 2002. To make room for Wong on the roster, the Reds send OF Tiago Campos to extended spring training in Sarasota, Florida. In limited action, Campos was mired in a 1-24 (.042) slump at the plate, which included ten strikeouts.

Wong will be in uniform and will be active for the Dragons Tuesday night game at Fifth Third Field against the West Michigan Whitecaps.
