Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves have recalled defenseman BOB NARDELLA from the Rockford IceHogs of the United Hockey League.

The 38-year-old blueliner ranks third all-time in franchise history with 233 assists and 291 points in 533 regular-season games with the Wolves - which ranks second all-time - spanning parts of eight seasons (1994-95 and 1997-2004). He also ranks third all-time during the playoffs with 44 helpers and 61 points and second with 101 postseason contests. NARDELLA helped the squad win the 1998 and 2000 Turner Cup Championships and the 2002 Calder Cup Championship.

The 5-foot-8-inch, 170-pound defenseman collected one assist and six penalty minutes in five games with Team Italy during the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, last month. He also racked up 19 assists and 22 points in 26 games with Rockford this season.

The 13-year pro has played six seasons in Europe, winning Italian League Championships with Alta Badia (1991-92), Alleghe (1992-93) and Milan (2002-03), along with a German Ice Hockey League title with Mannheim (1996-97). In 1998, NARDELLA briefly left the Wolves to represent Italy at the Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.
