Bulldogs Defeated By Barons

Cleveland, OH - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated 4-1 by the Cleveland Barons on Saturday night at Quicken Loans Arena. Hamilton's record now stands at 28-34-0-3.

Lukas Kaspar gave the Barons a 1-0 lead at 13:36 of the first period when he skated down the right wing and snapped a shot from the face-off circle over the glove of Bulldogs goaltender Jaroslav Halak. Hamilton evened the score at 17:53 when Pierre Dagenais rifled a shot from the edge of the left face-off circle past Cleveland netminder Nolan Schaefer.

At the 11:58 mark of the middle frame, Kaspar batted Shane Joseph's centering pass out of the air and into the net to give the Barons a 2-1 lead. Cleveland scored on a two-man advantage at 18:40 to take a two-goal lead. Halak stopped Patrick Rissmiller's shot but Mike Iggulden was positioned at the side of the net and buried the rebound.

Barons forward Josh Hennessy potted an empty net goal with 1:34 remaining to round out the scoring.

Halak made 26 saves while Schaefer stopped 23 shots.

Hamilton was 0 for 7 on the power play while Cleveland went 1 for 10.

The Bulldogs next game will take place on Friday, March 10th when the Manitoba Moose visit Copps Coliseum. Game time is 7:30 p.m. This game can be seen live on Hamilton's Cable 14.
