
Wolves Upset Bid Upended in Final Moments

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves (10-11) held their own against the Western Conference's best, losing a tightly-contested game to the Memphis Hustle (17-4) 130-127 Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
Iowa trailed by as many as nine points in the second half before falling just short at the final buzzer.
Minnesota Timberwolves assignee Jaylen Nowell had a monster game for Iowa, finishing with a team-high 26 points to go along with four rebounds and five assists. The former University of Washington standout shot 9-of-19 overall and 5-of-10 from deep.
Two-way guard Jordan McLaughlin tallied 25 points and a season-high seven three-pointers made, finishing 7-of-9 from beyond the arc.
As a team the Wolves shot 47.1% from the field and 50.0% from deep.
Three players tallied 20-plus points for the Hustle, led by a 28-point outburst from two-way forward Yuta Watanabe.
Former No. 4 overall 2017 NBA draft pick Josh Jackson recorded a double-double for Memphis with 26 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in the win for the road team.
The Wolves finish their four-game homestand on Monday with a rematch against the Memphis Hustle at 7:00 p.m. CT.
