Reading, PA -- The Erie SeaWolves flexed their muscles early Wednesday night and came away with a 7-3 victory over the Phillies in the Eastern League.

Home runs by Cameron Maybin and Matt Joyce vaulted the SeaWolves (68-51) to a 6-0 lead after three innings, Maybin's three-run opposite-field blast in the first setting the tone. The top prospect in the Detroit organization, Maybin has four home runs in five games with his new team.

Six of the runs came off Carlos Carrasco (4-3), who settled down after the early onslaught and went six innings. He allowed eight hits, walked one and struck out one. Jon Connolly (7-6) pitched into the seventh inning and did not allow an earned run for the win.

Mike Costanzo, Juan Tejeda and Shaun Boyd had two hits apiece for the Phillies (60-62), who also got two RBIs from Mike Spidale
