A three-run sixth gave the Binghamton Mets the lead for good in their 5-3 win over the Altoona Curve at NYSEG Stadium Tuesday...Jamar Hill had the goahead two-run single in the sixth before Mark Kiger scored on a wild pitch...Mike Carp's first-inning homer got the B-Mets on the board. J.E. Cruz added a longball in the eighth...starter Bobby Parnell didn't allow an unearned run over a career-high-tying seven innings for the win...the victory ends Binghamton's losing streak at four games.
About Binghamton
Over their last five games, the B-Mets have scored 14 runs (2.8/game) and hit .196 (30 for 153) while going 1-4...the B-Mets have scored less than five runs in four of their last five games after scoring five or more times in seven straight contests...Brett Harper is the 12th B-Met to hit 20 or more homers in a season and the first since Mike Jacobs, who hit 25 homers in 2005...the BMets have won their last two home series, both vs. TRE, the first time the BMets have won back-to-back home series this season. The B-Mets haven't won three straight home series since taking four straight 6/30-7/30, 2006.
About Altoona
The Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate comes to Binghamton for the last leg of their nine-game road trip, which also took them to POR and NH. Altoona is 5-2 on this trip...the Curve are fourth in hitting (.272) and second in steals (114)...former B-Mets starting pitchers Matt Peterson and Jason Roach are currently working out of Altoona's bullpen.

Binghamton lost all seven of their meetings with Bowie this season, the first time in club history the B-Mets have been swept in a season series...Marcos Carvajal and Kevin Mulvey both have double-digit losses, becoming the seventh pair of B-Mets pitchers with 10+ losses in a season and the first since Luz Portobanco (12) and Rafael Lopez (10) in 2005...8/8 vs. TRE, the B-Mets picked up their fourth shutout win of the season. Their previous three shutouts were decided by 1-0 scores (7/20 vs. POR/2, 7/14 @ CON, 5/5 vs. POR). The B-Mets also won three 1-0 games in 2001 and 2003 and they had four 1-0 victories in 2000...Binghamton's had nine games postponed, all in April, and they still need to make up three games as part of doubleheaders. All three of those doubleheaders will be played at NYSEG Stadium...Binghamton's postponed series vs. NB 4/16-18 is only the second series postponed in NYSEG/Municipal Stadium history and the sixth postponed series in team history (also 4/5-7/2007 @ AKR, 5/23-26/2006 @ POR, 4/7-9/2003 @ New Haven, 4/6-8/2001 @ POR and 4/21-23/2000 vs. POR). 2007 is also the first season in club history in which more than one series has been postponed.
