Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves have signed center ANGELO ESPOSITO to an Amateur Tryout Contact (ATO).

The 20th overall pick in the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft, ESPOSITO was acquired by the Atlanta Thrashers from the Pittsburgh Penguins in an NHL Trade Deadline transaction on Feb. 26 that involved left wing Marian Hossa. The 19-year-old center ranked third on the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Quebec Remparts with 39 goals and 69 points in 56 regular-season games and netted 10 points (4G, 6A) in 11 postseason tilts before the squad was eliminated in the quarterfinals on Friday night.

ESPOSITO racked up 246 points (96G, 150A) and 177 penalty minutes in 173 career regular-season QMJHL contests spanning three seasons with Quebec (2005 to 2008). The Montreal native and current Wolves teammate JORDAN LaVALLEE helped the Remparts capture the 2006 Memorial Cup during his junior debut. ESPOSITO ranked second among QMJHL rookies with a career-high 98 points (39G, 59A) during the 2005-06 regular season and was awarded the Michel Bergeron Trophy as the league's top offensive rookie.

ESPOSITO also captained Team Canada to the Gold Medal in the U-18 Junior World Cup in 2006.
