Stars Drop 4-1 Decision At Peoria

PEORIA, IL --- Marty Sertich scored his fifth goal in the last three games but it was the only goal for the Iowa Stars as they lost 4-1 in Peoria to the Rivermen Saturday night. The Stars close out their regular season tomorrow at 4:05 at Rockford.

After the first period went scoreless, Martin Kariya put the Rivermen on the scoreboard with a short-handed tally at 7:24 of the second. Sertich scored for the third straight game as he netted his team leading 27th on a power play with assists from James Neal and Ray Sawada 1:58 into the third period.

The Rivermen scored twice at 9:51 and 16:08 to push their lead to 3-1. An empty net goal made the final 4-1.

Goalie Mitch O'Keefe made his pro debut for the Stars and made 33 saves.
