
Wolves' Scout Honoured

The Sudbury Wolves would like to congratulate long-time OHL scout GIL HUGHES on his recent award presented to him by the City of Oshawa and the Oshawa Minor Hockey Association.
"Gil Hughes is one of the finest scouts in the game of hockey and we are fortunate to have him on our staff" notes Wolves' GM Blaine Smith. "Some of the players that Gil Hughes has been directly responsible in drafting for the Sudbury Wolves include: Josh Leivo, Conor Cummins and Austin Veleke ..... just to name a few."
Hughes was recognized for his many years of success of coaching and developing Oshawa minor hockey players and teams by leading them to Championship seasons. Hughes was a long-time scout of the Oshawa Generals before joining the Wolves. Hughes and his wife Jean also billeted a number of Oshawa General players at their Oshawa home over the years including Eric Lindros.
