Chicago Wolves News Release

Chicago Wolves center and Notre Dame University graduate Ben Simon, along with center Derek MacKenzie and defenseman Kurtis Foster, will make appearances early next week as part of the team's "Read to Succeed" program, which has reached nearly 250,000 children in eight seasons.

The following five appearances are scheduled for next week:

Tue., Nov. 19:
Simon - Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 500 N. Dunton Ave., 5 p.m.
MacKenzie - Fox Lake District Library, 255 E. Grand Ave., 4:30 p.m.
MacKenzie - McHenry Public Library, 809 N. Front St., 6:30 p.m.

Wed., Nov. 20:
Foster - Berkeley Public Library, 1637 Taft Ave., 4:30 p.m.
Foster - Summit Public Library, 6209 S. Archer Road, 6:30 p.m.

The players will discuss the importance of recreational reading; dress a child in Wolves hockey gear; raffle Wolves prizes; and sign autographs.

The program, sponsored by Fisher Nuts, encourages children to spend more time at the library and reading for recreation. Every participant in the program sets an individual reading goal and has the opportunity to achieve incentive prizes such as American Hockey League key chains; Wolves T-shirts; and Wolves game tickets for reaching his or her reading goals.

The Wolves work with the DuPage, North Suburban and Suburban Library Systems and their participating libraries, reaching more than 30,000 kids each year. Members of the Chicago Wolves will visit more than 40 libraries throughout the Chicago area this season.
