Pirates Announce Official Receptions Program for 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic

PORTLAND, ME ... They are sure to be the second-hottest tickets in Portland during the 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic weekend. The Portland Pirates announced today that tickets for the official 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic receptions that will be held prior to and after both the Pepsi All-Star Skills Competition and All-Star Game will go on sale tomorrow through the Pirates' offices.

"These events will really round out the weekend and should enhance the experience for the fans attending the All-Star Classic weekend," said Brian Petrovek, Pirates' CEO. "Additionally, we've made this the most affordable reception plan in All-Star history in hopes that as many fans as possible will be able to take part."

The 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic begins on Sunday, February 2, 2003 with the Pre-Skills Competition Reception presented by UBS/PaineWebber at the Portland Public Market from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Guests can experience the "Tastes of Maine" from more than a dozen Portland Public Market vendors. The Van Voorst Trio will entertain guests throughout the evening leading up to the Pepsi All-Star Skills Competition. Tickets for the event are $10 per person.

Following the Skills Competition, guests are invited to the Post-Skills Competition Reception in the Grand Ballroom of the Holiday Inn By the Bay. This event will run from 10:00 p.m. to closing. In cooperation with the American Lighthouse Foundation, Lighthouse Depot of Wells, Maine and Hannaford's "Lighthouses on Parade", the Grand Ballroom will be the setting for a party of "Lighthouses". Entertainment for the event will be provided by Big Chief. Members of both All-Star teams will be present. Tickets for the event are $20 per person.

The festivities on Monday, February 3rd begin with the Hockey Hall of Fame/AHL All-Star Classic Brunch presented by Fleet at the Portland Expo from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All-Star Classic players, coaches, AHL team and league executives and VIP guests will gather at this special event to pay tribute to this year's honorees, Washington Capitals' great and 2002 Hockey Hall of Fame Inductee Rod Langway and New York Rangers and Boston Bruins Hall of Famer Brad Park. The cost of the event is $30 per person or $250 for a table of ten. A sit down brunch will be served.

Prior to the All-Star Game, fans are invited to the Pre-AHL All-Star Game Reception presented by Pizzagalli Construction Company at the Portland Museum of Art from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Three centuries of world-class Portland art and architecture will be on display for the AHL's world-class players and coaches preparing for the All-Star Game. Music will be provided by the Tom Snow Trio.
