'Wolves Fail to Hold Leads in Game One

It took extra innings and the SeaWolves came out on the short end of game one of Wednesday night's doubleheader in Harrisburg 8-7.
Harrisburg struck first in the bottom of the second against Erie starter Jared Wesson. Chris Rahl singed with one out and advanced to second on an error. He scored on a Devin Ivany for a 1-0 lead.
Erie tied the game in the top of the fourth inning. Jordan Lennerton, Rawley Bishop and Tony Plagman all singled to load the bases against Danny Rosenbaum. After Lennerton was retied on a force off the bat of James McCann, Brandon Douglas singled home Bishop, tying the game at 1-1.
Harrisburg regained the lead in the fourth. Chris Rahl led off with a single, stole second and third. He scored on a Jose Lozada base hit making it 2-1 Sens.
The 'Wolves took their first lead in the top of the fifth. Jamie Johnson walked and moved into scoring position on a Niuman Romero sacrifice bunt. On the bunt, Rosenbaum bobbled the ball, allowing the runners to reach safely. Nick Castellanos reached on an error loading the bases. Lennerton hit into a double play, scoring Johnson, tying the game at 2-2. Romero then scored from third on a wild pitch, giving the 'Wolves a 3-2 lead. Rawley Bishop followed with a towering home run down the left field line, his fifth. Plagman doubled and score on James McCann two-run home run for a 6-2 Erie edge.
The Senators quickly responded once again in the last of the fifth. Manny Mayorson and Chris Marrero each singled to start the inning. Jesus Valdez singled home Mayorson making it a 6-3 game. Wesson then walked Tim Pahuta and was lifted with the bases loaded. Michael Morrison entered and dealt a wild pitch, scoring Marrero to make it 6-4. Van Ostrand grounded home Valdez to make it a one-run game and a second wild pitch brought home Pahuta, tying the game 6-6.
The game remained tied until the eighth. Michael Rockett led off with a double and moved to third on a Johnson sacrifice bunt. Romero lifted a bloop single to left, scoring Rockett to make it 7-6 Erie.
The 'Wolves once again failed to hold the lead. Zach Samuels, after retiring four straight leading into the inning, walked Mayorson and Stephen King to start he inning. Valdez doubled home pinch runner Chris McConnell tying the game. With the bases loaded, Rhal singled home King giving the Senators the win.
Samuels (3-1) took the loss allowing two runs on one hit with three walks and no strikeouts. It was the first runs allowed by Samuels since May 12 (13.1 IP).
