Chicago Wolves News Release

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Chicago Wolves were unable to hold off a late push from the San Antonio Rampage, falling 2-1 in a shootout on Tuesday afternoon at AT&T Center.

Forward Tye McGinn scored while goaltender Max Lagace (15-7-4) saved 15 shots for the Wolves (33-18-5-2), who maintained their edge over Iowa and Grand Rapids for first place in the AHL's Central Division.

Jordan Kyrou scored in regulation for San Antonio (27-26-6-0) while Austin Poganski and Joey LaLeggia scored goals in the shootout. Netminder Jared Coreau (12-14-8) recorded 16 saves.

Just after a Wolves power play expired, McGinn tallied his second goal in as many games to give the Wolves a 1-0 lead 4:16 into the second period. Linemate Tobias Lindberg skated up the right boards and dished a late pass across the slot to McGinn at the back door.

The teams went into the intermission tied after Kyrou scored on the man-advantage at the 14:29 mark of the second period.

The teams went scoreless through the third period and an overtime session, but Poganski and Laleggia scored in the first and third rounds of the shootout to take the extra point.

The Wolves wrap up this four-game road trip with a visit to Milwaukee at 7 p.m. Friday. Chicago returns to Allstate Arena at 7 p.m. Saturday for American Girl Night against the Iowa Wild. To find the best ticket deals, visit ChicagoWolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
