Wolves Begin Seven Game Homestand Tonight

(Greater Sudbury, ON) A busy January continues for the Sudbury Wolves as they begin their seven-game home stretch tonight against the Barrie Colts.

The Wolves are coming off a very successful weekend where they picked up back-to-back wins, defeating the Oshawa Generals at home 4-2, and North Bay Battalion 6-4 on the road.

David Goyette continues to lead the Wolves offensively with 14 goals and 20 assists on the season and was named OHL Player of the Week on January 17th, during the Wolves Eastern Conference Road swing.

This past weekend, David picked up 4 points in the 2-game stretch, and now sits in first in points in the OHL amongst all Rookies with 34 on the season. Kocha Delic also had a solid weekend as he picked up 3 points in the game against the North Bay Battalion and continues to lead the Wolves in plus-minus with 13. Four rookies continue to lead the Wolves offensively including David Goyette (14G, 20A), Kocha Delic (11G, 17A), Evan Konyen (8G, 19A) and Quentin Musty (9G, 15A) and sit in the top 15 in rookie scoring in the OHL. Goaltender Mitchell Weeks is another notable player as he remains in the top position in total saves in the OHL amongst all Goaltenders with 948 on the season. Weeks has a 3.76 goals-against average and a save percentage of .901 so far this season.

The Wolves head home to the Sudbury Community for a seven-game home stretch that will close out January and continue into February. The Wolves will begin the home stretch facing off against the Colts tonight in their rescheduled match-up from December at 7:05pm. Following tonight's game, the Wolves will welcome their Eastern division rivals and face off against the Ottawa 67's on Friday January 28th at 7:05pm. The Wolves will then round out the weekend on Sunday afternoon against the Barrie Colts at 2:05pm.

Under the current provincial guidelines, spectators are not permitted at any of the games this week.
