
Wolves Announce October Player of the Month Award Winners

Sudbury Wolves forward CHAD HEFFERNAN has been named the TRAVELODGE COMMUNITY PLAYER OF THE MONTH for his outstanding contribution to the City of Greater Sudbury during the month of October. HEFFERNAN has participated in a number of community events since the beginning of the season including the Jumpstart Skate with the Wolves and Make A Wish Day at Villa St. Gabriella Villa. In 16 games to date this season, the Peterborough native has notched 2 goals and 3 assists in addition to accumulating 40 penalty minutes. Chad is regularly one of the first to volunteer to participate in events in the community and the Sudbury Wolves are very proud to have him representing the organization on and off the ice!
MOLSON CANADIAN 3-STAR AWARD
Through his standout play during the month of October, KYLE CAPOBIANCO has been awarded the MOLSON CANADIAN 3-STAR AWARD. CAPOBIANCO was named the 1st star on October 30th when the Wolves hosted the Oshawa Generals and was named the second star on October 25th when the Wolves hosted the Hamilton Bulldogs. The former first round pick of the Wolves was selected in the 3rd round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes. The 6'2" defenceman is providing some much needed leadership on the blueline for the Wolves this season and is counted on to chip in offensively as well. In 16 games, Capobianco has one goal and 9 assists for 10 points. He will also participate in the CHL Canada Russia Series game in Windsor on November 16th. The Sudbury Wolves wish to congratulate Kyle on his strong play in early part of the season.
REG WILKINSON MEN'S WEAR SCHOLASTIC PLAYER OF THE MONTH
The REG WILKINSON MEN'S WEAR SCHOLATIC PLAYER OF THE MONTH is sophomore forward MICHAEL PEZZETTA, who is currently attending LaSalle Secondary School. Michael is enrolled in three university level courses which include math, biology and chemistry, where he is achieving a 90% average to date. The Mississauga native was the Wolves first round selection in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection and is rated as a prospect for next summer's NHL Draft. The Sudbury Wolves wish to congratulate Michael on his tremendous work on and off the ice!
QUIZNOS HARDEST WORKING FORWARD
The QUIZNOS HARDEST WORKING FORWARD for the month of October is Captain DANNY DESROCHERS. DESROCHERS is entering his 4th full season with the Sudbury Wolves and was named captain just prior to the start of the regular season. DESROCHERS has a strong work ethic on and off the ice and has the tough job of leading this young Wolves' squad. In 16 games this season, the North Bay native has 5 goals and 2 assists and is a -4 on the season. He can be counted to play in all situations and the Wolves will continue to look to Danny for his leadership and hard working play throughout the season.
QUIZNOS HARDEST WORKING DEFENCEMAN
19-year-old defenceman, CONOR CUMMINS has been named QUIZNOS HARDEST WORKING DEFENCEMAN for the month of October. The Whitby, ON native is entering his 4th season with the Sudbury Wolves and is providing some much needed leadership on the blueline. CUMMINS works hard each and every minute he is on the ice. In 16 games this season, CUMMINS has 2 goals and 1 assist for a total of 3 points.
SKATER'S EDGE PLAYER OF THE MONTH
ALAN LYSZCZARCZYK is the winner of the SKATER'S EDGE PLAYER OF THE MONTH for October. LYSCZARCZYK is off an excellent start this season with 12 points in 16 games. The 6', 181 lbs. centreman sits second in team scoring notching 4 goals and adding 8 assists. He also currently sits 4th in league rookie scoring. The hardworking centre came to training camp as a free agent and has been a great asset for the club to date. The Sudbury Wolves would like to congratulate Alan on his tremendous play during the month of October.
Player of the month awards will be handed out prior to this weekend's double-header action beginning Friday when the Barrie Colts come to town at 7:00PM.
