Wolves Add Denny to Blueline

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned defenseman CHAD DENNY from the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators to the Chicago Wolves.

DENNY, who has not appeared in any games with the Wolves, has recorded 13 points (7G, 6A) and 48 penalty minutes in 48 contests with Gwinnett during his professional debut. The 20-year-old blueliner has recorded four goals in his last seven games with the Gladiators, which includes a professional career-high two markers on March 4 against the Charlotte Checkers.

Last season, the Sydney, Nova Scotia, native ranked sixth among QMJHL defensemen and third on the Lewiston MAINEiacs with a career-high 65 points (17G, 48A) in 59 regular-season games. DENNY registered 10 goals and nine assists in 17 postseason tilts to help Lewiston capture the QMJHL President Cup and earn a bid in the Memorial Cup Tournament during his final year in juniors.

Atlanta's second choice, 49th overall, in the 2005 National Hockey League Entry Draft, DENNY racked up 100 assists, 147 points and 356 penalty minutes in 215 career regular-season matchups with Lewiston spanning four seasons (2003 to 2007).

DENNY and the Wolves launch a three-game home stand at the Allstate Arena against the Hamilton Bulldogs on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Chicago, which leads the American Hockey League with a .742 winning percentage hosts the Lake Erie Monsters on Friday at 7:30 p.m., and the Peoria Rivermen on Saturday at 7 p.m.
