Houston Aeros recall LW Matt Kassian from Texas Wildcatters

HOUSTON, Texas - Houston Aeros' General Manager Tom Lynn announced today that left wing Matt Kassian has joined the American Hockey League (AHL) club as an "emergency recall" from ECHL Texas Wildcatters. Kassian has played in five games with the Aeros earlier this season on two separate call-ups.

Kassian, 21 (10/28/86), has recorded 21 penalty minutes (PIM) and no points in the five games with the Aeros. Kassian has played 46 games with the Wildcatters recording ten points (6-4=10) with 88 PIM and a plus-2 rating. The 6-foot-5, 236-pound native of Sherwood Park, Alb., was a second round (No. 57 overall) pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild.
