The Wolf Pack (30-21-5-3, 68 pts.) have lost three straight in regulation for the first time this season, after dropping a trio of games this past weekend. The Pack jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period Friday night in Worcester, only to see the Sharks strike for five second-period goals and hand the Wolf Pack a 5-2 loss. A crowd of 7,192, the fifth lower-bowl sellout in the last seven home games, was on hand Saturday at the XL Center for a matinee between the Wolf Pack and the AHL-leading Hershey Bears, and the Wolf Pack outshot the visitors 37-20. A pair of Hershey goals in the third period, though, broke a 3-3 and gave the Bears a 5-3 victory. The Wolf Pack struck first in Sunday's visit to Atlantic Division-leading Manchester, on an early goal by Dylan McIlrath, but the Monarchs eventually held sway in a 5-3 verdict.

Eight teams in each conference qualify for the playoffs: the three division winners will be seeded first through third in order of points, and the next five teams in order of points will be seeded fourth through eighth.

This week:

The Wolf Pack play a three-game road weekend, as the 2015 American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament takes over the XL Center. The Pack travel to Springfield on Friday night for a 7:00 PM game, head to Binghamton Saturday for a 7:05 date with the Senators, and then continue on to Wilkes-Barre to meet the Penguins Sunday at 4:05.

Friday, March 13 at the Springfield Falcons (MassMutual Center), 7:00 PM

* The second-place Falcons enter the week 32-22-6-0 for 70 points, two points ahead of the Wolf Pack in the Northeast Division. Springfield has lost three straight and is 6-12-3-0 in 21 games since January 14.

* The Falcons added trade acquisitions Rene Bourque and William Karlsson at the NHL trade deadline last Monday, and the parent Columbus Blue Jackets recalled Bourque and assigned Brian Gibbons to Springfield on Saturday.

* This is the seventh of ten meetings on the year between the two I-91 rivals the Wolf Pack and Falcons, and the Wolf Pack have won the last four after shootout losses in the first two encounters. Both of the Pack's previous trips to Springfield have yielded overtime wins, a 4-3 decision January 10 and a 3-2 victory in the last game of the series February 20.

Saturday, March 14 at the Binghamton Senators (Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena), 7:05 PM

* This is the second of two meetings on the year between the Wolf Pack and Senators, and the Pack's only regular-season visit to Binghamton. In the first game of the season series, the Wolf Pack captured a 4-2 win December 7 at the XL Center.

* The Senators (25-26-7-1, 58 pts.) have put together a five-game points streak (3-0-2-0), to climb to 13th place in the Eastern Conference and to within ten points of a playoff spot.

* Senator defenseman Chris Wideman, who leads the team in assists and is tied for tops in points (15-31-46 in 58 GP), paces all AHL blueliners in point-scoring and is tied for the league lead in goals among defensemen.

Sunday, March 15 at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza), 4:05 PM

* Penguin rookie goaltender Matt Murray has set a new record for the longest shutout streak in AHL history, holding opponents scoreless for a period of 304:11 before surrendering a goal at 18:49 of the third period Sunday, in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 4-1 win at Springfield.

* The Penguins are 34-19-2-4 on the year for 74 points, five points behind first-place Hershey in the East Division and six points up on the Wolf Pack in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has won six of its last seven and is 14-2-1-1 in its last 18 games.

* This is the Wolf Pack's first trip of the season to Wilkes-Barre. The first two games of the season series were in Hartford and the Penguins won both, 4-1 on February 22 and 3-2 in overtime six days later.

The Wolf Pack's next two home dates are both Friday nights, March 20, when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms invade the XL Center, and March 27, when the Pack host the Providence Bruins. Both of those games face off at 7:00 PM, and all Friday-night home games feature $1 hot dogs and $2 beers through the start of the second period. Also, those Friday games will mark the return of "Hawk's Nest" to the XL Center's Comcast Coliseum Club, with Bob "Hawk" Crawford, the play-by-play voice of the Wolf Pack, conducting a Wolf Pack-themed interview from 6:00-6:20 PM. Questions and comments are welcomed from the patrons enjoying the Comcast Coliseum Club's wide array of dining and beverage options. The Comcast Coliseum Club restaurant and bar area is open two hours prior to every Wolf Pack home game, to everyone holding a ticket to the game.

The XL Center's Comcast Coliseum Club will be featuring a new buffet package for all remaining Saturday Wolf Pack games. The menu will include: tender, juicy, endless prime rib, alongside seven premium Saturday-only buffet additions, those being delicious, nonstop peel 'n eat shrimp, a nightly chef special, fresh vegetables, potatoes, a kids' entree, salad, fresh fruit, antipasto and dessert, all for only $19.00. The Pack's next Saturday home game is April 4, a 7:00 battle against the Manchester Monarchs.
