April 12, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release

The Wolf Pack (36-33-6-5, 83 pts.) finished the season three points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, but went out on a high note. The Pack won their last three games of a four-game week last week, and five of their last six of the regular season and eight of their last 11. After starting last week with a 9-2 pounding at the hands of the Worcester Sharks at the XL Center, the Wolf Pack rebounded to post a 3-2 win over the Atlantic Division champs Friday in Worcester. The Pack scored a franchise-record seven goals in the second period Saturday at home, on the way to a wild, 7-5 victory vs. Springfield, and then captured the 2009-10 GEICO Connecticut Cup with a 2-1, season-ending win at Bridgeport on Sunday. Corey Locke had 2-3-5 in the three games he played on the week, to finish the season with a pro career-high 31 goals, and 85 points, the third-highest total in the AHL. In goal, Chad Johnson won all three of his starts last week, with eight total goals-against on 89 shots, giving him a team season-high streak of five straight winning decisions.
