The Wolf Pack split a pair of Atlantic Division home games heading into the Christmas holiday, defeating the Springfield Falcons 2-1 on Friday night and dropping a 3-1 verdict to Providence Saturday, and then climbed back to the .500 mark with a 2-0 win in Worcester last night (Tuesday). Jed Ortmeyer notched the game-winning goal and had an assist in Friday's victory, Ivan Baranka's second goal of the season was the only Wolf Pack tally in Saturday's game, and Brandon Dubinsky bagged the game-winner and added an assist last night. Al Montoya chalked up his first shutout of the season, and the third of his pro career, with 20 saves in the triumph at Worcester.
This week:
The Wolf Pack continue a busy five-games-in-six-days stretch with a visit to Springfield tonight (Wednesday, 7:05), and then visit Bridgeport for a GEICO Connecticut Cup tilt on Friday night (7:35). The Pack's only home game of the week is Saturday night, as the Manchester Monarchs visit for a 7:00 game. That night features an in-game concert sponsored by Radio Disney and featuring the Jonas Brothers, the Truth Squad and Nuttin but Stringz. Also, the first 5,000 fans will receive a Wolf Pack Tenth-Anniversary Commemorative flag. The busy schedule segment concludes New Year's Eve, Sunday, with a trip to Portland. That game faces off at 5:35 PM.

After Friday's 2-1 win over the Falcons at the Hartford Civic Center, the Wolf Pack are 1-1-0-0 in the DATTCO I-91 Challenge. Springfield currently resides three points ahead of the Wolf Pack in the Atlantic Division standings, with a record of 16-14-0-1 for 33 points. This is the fifth of ten GEICO Connecticut Cup battles on the year between the Wolf Pack and the Sound Tigers. The Wolf Pack have won three of the first four and the last three in a row, and are 2-0-0-0 in Bridgeport this season. The Sound Tigers sit fifth in the Atlantic Division, at 13-13-1-3 for 30 points, and have lost four out of their last five games. Saturday, December 30 vs. Manchester at the Hartford Civic Center, 7:00 p.m.
The Monarchs are 6-2-1-0 in their last nine games and are only one point off the lead in the Atlantic Division (15-10-6-1, 37 pts.). Former Wolf Pack star and AHL MVP Jason LaBarbera has appeared in 28 of Manchester's 32 games on the year, and has compiled a 14-12-1 record, a 2.46 goals-against average, 92.5% save percentage and three shutouts. The Pack and Monarchs have split two previous battles this season, with the Wolf Pack winning the only previous game at the Hartford Civic Center, 3-0 on December 2. Fans will be treated to an in-game concert at this game, with the Jonas Brothers, the Truth Squad and Nuttin but Stringz all scheduled to perform. The concert is presented by Radio Disney.
