DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced Wednesday that the Dallas Stars (NHL) have recalled forward Chris Conner from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa.
A native of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Conner is currently the Iowa Stars fourth-leading scorer, recording 20 points. The 23-year old has notched nine goals and 11 assists, including two assists in Tuesday's 5-2 win over Omaha. In his last seven games, he has registered four goals and five assists, including a four-game points-streak that consists of one goal and four assists.
This is his second recall to the National Hockey League. He was recalled by Dallas on December 7th and made his NHL debut on December 8th against the Edmonton Oilers, recording 10:48 of ice time and three shots before being loan back to Iowa on December 10th.
In 15 regular season games with Iowa last year, he posted two goals and three assists: 15(2/3/5). He also had one goal and one assist in seven Calder Cup Playoff games last season. The Ypsilanti, Michigan-native left Michigan Tech with 69 career goals and 60 assists. Fifteen of his 69 goals came shorthanded, a MTU school record.
IOWA STARS INFO: After playing in Omaha on the 29th, the Stars return home for a Saturday, December 30th contest with the Milwaukee Admirals. Face-off is slated for 7:00 PM. The ImaginEve New Year's Eve festivities continue into the evening at Wells Fargo Arena when the Stars host the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights again on New Year's Eve, Sunday, December 31st. The New Year's Eve game will have a special 7:30 PM start time. The world famous ZOOperstars will be on hand to entertain fans throughout the game.
