Hartford, October 10, 2004: The Hartford Wolf Pack have added one player and reassigned eight others as they prepare for opening night of the American Hockey League season. The team announced today that it has agreed to terms with the league's top goal scorer for last season, Jeff Hamilton who notched 43 goals in 67 games with Bridgeport.
Steve MacIntyre, Rory Rawlyk, Brandon Cullen, Juris Stals, and goaltenders Mike Ayers and Randy Petruk have been assigned to the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL. Kevin Cooper will join the Florence Pride of the same league, while Michael Henrich was released from his PTO agreement.
The roster moves leaves the club with 28 bodies, of which four remain on the injured list. Those players currently out of action are Garth Murray (broken thumb), Thomas Pock (abdominal strain), Lucas Lawson (groin) and Lee Falardeau (concussion).
The team opens its eighth season on Saturday, October 16 versus Philadelphia. Game time is 7:05 p.m., and will be preceded by a laser and pyrotechnics display. Tickets for the game are still available at all Ticketmaster locations and at the Hartford Civic Center Box Office. All fans will receive a long sleeved T-shirt and schedule magnet courtesy of The Hartford. Advanced tickets cost as little as $16.00 or $8.00 for youth aged 16 and under.
The AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack hockey club is part of Madison Square Garden LP. Cablevision Systems Corporation owns a controlling interest in MSG LP, which also includes the New York Rangers (NHL), New York Knicks (NBA), the New York Liberty (WNBA), the MSG Network, Fox Sports Net and the Madison Square Garden arena complex.
