Aeros reduce roster by three

HOUSTON, Texas - The American Hockey League's Houston Aeros have reassigned center David Bararuk (buh-ROOK) to the ECHL's Louisiana IceGators and goaltender Robert Gherson to the Quad City Mallards of the United Hockey League. In addition, the Aeros have released right wing David Morisset from his PTO.

Bararuk, who led the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads to last season's Kelly Cup title, totaled two points (1-1=2) in three pre-season games. Gherson went 0-1-0 with an 8.53 goals against average in one pre-season game. Morisset, who missed all of the 2003-04 season due to injury, had an assist and 15 penalty minutes in three pre-season games.

Houston's roster now stands at 25.

The Aeros open their season Friday at 7 p.m. in San Antonio. Houston's home opener is Saturday at 7:35 p.m. versus the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks.
