Chicago Sky athletes Candice Dupree and Stacey Dales, along with Diana Taurasi and Cappie Pondexter of the Phoenix Mercury will meet with fans in a Hoops Talk/Question & Answer session at NIKETOWN Chicago at 7:30pm on Monday July 31st. This event will give the general public and three area high school girls basketball teams the opportunity to interact with some of the top players in the WNBA. Marshall, Bolingbrook and Whitney Young High Schools will attend . Those attending can also enter to win an autographed pair of Taurasi's new signature shoe from Nike, tickets to the August 1st Mercury/Sky game, or other Nike products.
Pondexter, a Chicago native and Marshall High School alum, was the second overall draft pick in the WNBA this year and is currently ranked 4th in the WNBA in scoring with 20.3 points per game. Taurasi was the 2004 Rookie of the Year and is No. 1 in the WNBA in points per game (23.3).
Dupree, the Sky's No. 1 draft pick, leads the Sky and is third among rookies with 13.3 points per game. Dales recently returned from injury and has been on a hot streak, scoring a season-high 15 points on July 15 and 11 points on July 25 against the New York Liberty.
