Wizards Select Marcus Hubbard First Round in NBA Development League Draft

BISMARCK, ND, November 7, 2008 - The NBA Development League Central Division Champion Dakota Wizards selected Marcus Hubbard with their first pick (11th overall) in the 2008 NBA Development League draft. A 6'9, 230 pound forward from Angelo State. Hubbard was one of the last cut players from the Atlanta Hawks this preseason. A rookie in the D-League, Hubbard had a break out season during the 06-07 season at Angelo St. Averaging 21.7 ppg along with 8.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 26 games.

"Marcus is a talented Power Forward with good length and potential", Said Wizards Head Coach Duane Ticknor. "He's got longs arms and can run the floor well and can shoot a good mid-range shot".

The Wizards selected former St. Johns Center Aaron Spears with the 22nd pick in the second round. Spears, a 6'10 255 center averaged 4.6 ppg, and 2.6 rebounds in 27 games.
