Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
Sioux Falls, S.D. (November 7, 2008) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce selected Gary Forbes, a 6-foot-6, 220-pound guard/forward from the University of Massachusetts, with the fourth overall selection in the 2008 NBA Development League Draft.
Forbes was named to the First Team All-NBA Pre-Draft Team at the 2008 NBA Pre-Draft Camp in Orlando. During his senior season at UMass (2007-08) he averaged 19.4 points and 7.5 rebounds in 33.7 minutes per game.
"Gary is extremely talented and can score in a lot of different ways," said head coach Nate Tibbetts. "We also expect him to bring a lot of toughness to our team."

The 10 players selected by the Skyforce will arrive in Sioux Falls next weekend as training camp is scheduled to begin on Saturday, Nov. 15. Teams are allowed to invite a maximum of 17 players to training camp which consists of 10 players selected in the 2008 NBA D-League Draft and any combination of seven players who qualify as returning players for a respective returning team, or were selected by the team in the 2008 NBA D-League Expansion Draft for a respective expansion team; qualify as allocation players for the respective team, or are successful local player tryout participants for the respective team. Coaches will submit an opening day roster of 10 players on Wednesday, Nov. 26 as the 2008-09 NBA D-League regular season tips off on Friday, Nov. 28 with five games.
The home opener is on Friday, Nov. 28 against the Iowa Energy. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Arena. Single game tickets will go on sale on Monday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. Season tickets and 12-ticket flex packs are on sale for the 2008-09 season.
