
Wizards Rally to Beat Skyforce

Bismarck, N.D. (Apr. 3, 2012) - The Dakota Wizards played from behind for the first three quarters of play and did not take their first lead until the 11:07 mark of the fourth. They outscored the visiting Sioux Falls Skyforce 23-14 in the fourth to squeak out a 102-96 victory. Dakota now holds the top spot in the Eastern Conference and the number 2 spot in the overall standings. Leo Lyons came off the bench to score 15 points and grab 9 rebounds to lead the Wizards.
Sioux Falls took advantage of the Dakota Wizards flat start to jump out to a 17-6 lead half way through the first quarter. Former Dakota Wizards player, Curtis Withers, led the way for the Skyforce scoring 10 of his 22 points in the first. Sioux Falls pushed their lead to 17 early in the second on a Trey Gilder jam. The two teams traded buckets and Sioux Falls led 61-50 at the half.
Dakota came out more aggressive in the third and cut the Sioux Falls lead to four (74-70) on a Stefhon Hannah 3-pointer with 5:50 left in the quarter. Sioux Falls pushed their lead back up to eight, but Dakota finished the quarter on a 7-2 run to head into the fourth quarter down three points, 79-82. Dakota took their first lead of the game on a Leo Lyons lay-up early in the fourth quarter and held Sioux Falls to 25% shooting from the floor to close out the 102-96 victory.
Stefhon Hannah scored a team-high 16 points in the win. Marcus Dove finished with another double-double scoring 13 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
Marqus Blakely led the Skyforce with a game-high 24 points on 10-19 shooting from the field. Trey Gilder chipped in 20 points in the loss
Dakota now stands at 28-20 on the season and with a Springfield loss now have sole possession of 1st place in the East. Sioux Falls drops to 14-34 on the season.
