
Wizards Fall to Skyforce

Bismarck, N.D. (Mar. 14, 2012) - A quick start by the visiting Sioux Falls Skyforce put the Dakota Wizards back on their heels and they had to fight from behind for the majority of the game. Dakota came up short with their comeback and dropped a 97-88 loss to the Skyforce. Stefhon Hannah paced the Wizards in the loss with 17 points including 4-8 from behind the arc.
Sioux Falls, who was coming off of a 125-86 victory over the Erie BayHawks Tuesday night, got off to a hot start again Wednesday jumping out to a 27-19 lead after the first quarter. Hannah would lead the Wizards comeback in the second quarter as he scored 11 of his 17 points in quarter and brought the Wizards within 3 points heading into the locker room, 50-47.
Again Sioux Falls came out of the break on a mission going up by as many as 11 points in the third quarter on an Anthony Mason Jr. jump shot with just over 2 minutes remaining in the quarter. The Skyforce would take a 10 point lead into the final quarter, 76-66. Sioux Falls would increase their lead to 15 late in the fourth, but Dakota went on a 10-2 run to fight their way back to within 7 points with 2:51 left in the game. Dakota went cold in the final minutes of the game as Sioux Falls stole the 97-88 win over the home team.
Marcus Dove finished the night with 16 points while Edwin Ubiles and Mike Anderson scored 10 apiece in the loss.
Keith Benson scored a game high 24 points on 9-17 shooting for the visiting Skyforce. Marqus Blakely recorded a double-double on the night with 21 points and 12 rebounds.
Dakota has lost 5 of their last 6 games to fall to 20-19 on the season. The Wizards head south to Reno to take on the Bighorns this weekend before returning to the Bismarck Civic Center on Monday for a one game match-up with the Springfield Armor.
