Texas Legends News Release
Frisco, TX MAR. 14, 2012 - Chris Roberts had two attempts from beyond the arc to give the Texas Legends the win, but neither would fall as the Idaho Stampede sealed the win, 101-95.
After Chris Roberts final attempt the Stampede's Seth Tarver corralled the rebound and raced ahead of all players until Roberts was struck with the clear path foul on the other side awarding two free throws and possession to Idaho, icing the game with 1.4 seconds remaining.
Texas valiantly fought back from an 18 point half time deficit and held the lead in the fourth, 91-90, with 4:56 left. Dan Gadzuric provided his second double-double as a Legend grabbing 14 rebounds while contributing 13 points in 26 minutes.
Sean Williams returned to Texas after an assignment with the Dallas Mavericks, leading the team in scoring with 18 points. The Legends struggled from the field, shooting only 42.5% for the game, while the Stampede excelled at 52.9%.
Idaho relied on a balanced attack to beat Texas, as all five starters scored in double-figures. Marcus Banks was the high point man on the night scoring 24 points on five of nine shooting, while cashing in on 13 of 15 attempts from the free throw stripe for the Stampede.
This marks the first loss in nine games for the Texas Legends (21-19), but they will have no time to rest as they play their fourth game in five days, challenging the Idaho Stampede (17-25) tomorrow in Idaho Center Arena at 8:00PM CST in Boise, Idaho.
