Bismarck, N.D. (Feb. 28, 2012) - Dakota led for all but the first 6 minutes of the game as they dropped the Eastern Conference leading, Iowa Energy on Tuesday night in the Bismarck Civic Center, 127-110. Edwin Ubiles finished the night with 41 points on 18-26 shooting from the floor while also dishing out 6 assists. Ubiles 41 points is the fourth highest point total in the league this season.

Iowa took an early 5 point lead in the first quarter but Dakota outscored the visitors 25-13 the remaining 6 minutes of the first and a buzzer beating 3 pointer by Mike Anderson put the Wizards up 34-27 after one. The Wizards would push their lead to 12 late in the second quarter on a slam by Golden State Warriors assignee, Jeremy Tyler. Iowa used free throws to cut the Wizards lead to 6 but Ubiles would rattle off a quick 6 points of his own to give the Wizards a 10 point lead heading into the locker rooms, 64-54.

Ubiles would carry Dakota through the 3rd quarter scoring 17 of his game high 41 in the quarter. Ubiles went 3 for 3 from the 3 point line and 7 for 9 from the field and the two teams each scored 29 in the quarter to keep the Wizards lead at 10 heading into the final quarter. Poor shooting hindered Iowa in the fourth while Dakota kept chugging away going up by 21 late in the fourth with a Stefhon Hannah lay-up. The Wizards rode the rest of the game out coming away with the 127-110 victory.

Jeremy Tyler put together a solid first game for the Wizards, scoring 20 points and grabbing 9 rebounds.

Iowa was led by Moses Ehambe with a team high 22 points. Nick Murphy came off the bench to chip in 19.

Dakota improves to 18-14 on the season. They are back in action tomorrow night when they take on the Bakersfield Jam at 7:00pm.
