Erie, Pennsylvania, Tuesday, February 28 - The Erie BayHawks (16-17) closed out the month of February with an even win-loss record thanks to a victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (10-26) on Tuesday night. Erie was able to take control of the game which saw twelve lead changes and cruise to a win by the final score of 99-86.

Erie jumped out to an early lead behind two Sharrod Ford baskets in the first minute of action. The BayHawks eventually stretched their first quarter lead to seven before heading into the second frame ahead by three, despite shooting only 37%. The Mad Ants came out firing in the second quarter, evaporating Erie's lead and jumping ahead by six points. Fort Wayne controlled the majority of the first half before taking a five point advantage into the break.

It was Erie that came out hot in the third quarter, tying the game at the ten minute mark. The teams traded leads and the BayHawks eventually took a three point advantage into the final stanza. Fort Wayne was able to tie the score at 73 before Ford hit another jumper with eight minutes to go and put Erie ahead. The BayHawks would not look back as they shot a stellar 61% in the final frame to close out the Mad Ants, 99-86.

D.J. Kennedy continued his hot streak and led all scorers with 28 points. He also added seven assists and six rebounds to round out his effort. Kyle Goldcamp posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds off the bench and was joined in the double-digit scoring column by Ford (14), Mychel Thompson (11) and Marvin Phillips (10). Erie did most of it's damage in the paint, outscoring Fort Wayne 50-32. Fort Wayne had four players score more than ten points, including Ron Howard who led the squad with 19.

Erie returns to action on Saturday night for "Linsanity Night" and an appearance by the K-9 Friz-B-Crew, who reached the semi-finals of America's Got Talent. They will face the Sioux Falls Skyforce and the game will tip-off at 7:00 pm. Fort Wayne returns home to face the Dakota Wizards on Friday night.
