Syracuse Mets News Release
Syracuse, NY--The Syracuse Chiefs, Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are pleased to announce that Ashley Balester, the wife of Chiefs pitcher Collin Balester, is leading an effort by the wives of Chiefs players in Syracuse to help end childhood hunger. They are raising money through a bake sale campaign to help raise awareness for this cause.
Through the "Share our Strengh's Great American Bake Sale", individuals or organizations from around the country can contribute money to this campaign. Balester, along with the other wives of Chiefs players, has already raised nearly $200 with a final goal of raising $1,000. That total goal can help to reach twenty four low-income families with a six-week nutritious cooking and food budgeting course.
The official Syracuse Chiefs Ladies bake sale will be held on June 25th at Alliance Bank Stadium. That night the Chiefs will play the Pawtucket Red Sox and the gates will open at 6 p.m. for a 7:00 first pitch. It will also be the first postgame fireworks night of the season.
Tickets are available online at syracusechiefs.com, at the box office, or by calling the box office at (315) 474-7833.
