OSHKOSH, WI - The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the Greensboro Swarm 97-84.
TyTy Washington Jr. led all scorers with 22 points while Wenyen Gabriel and Chris Livingston added a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds each.
The Greensboro Swarm's top scorer was Jaylen Sims with 21 points followed by Amari Bailey with 19 points.
Wisconsin got off to a hot start grabbing an 8-3 lead within the first minutes of the game. Greensboro was quick to respond with three straight baskets to go ahead by two points. Wisconsin tied the game before Glenn Robinson III converted one free throw to put the Herd on top. Greensboro countered taking the lead once again and held it till the end of the quarter. The Swarm led 20-18 at the end of the first quarter.
Stevie Thompson Jr. hit a three-point shot to open the second quarter which pushed the Herd ahead 21-20. The teams exchanged the lead twice before the Swarm converted seven consecutive points. The Herd rallied with a 13-7 run to come within one point (44-43) at the break. Milwaukee Bucks two-way player TyTy Washington Jr. propelled the Herd with 11 points.
The Herd answered every Swarm basket and eventually tied the game 49-49 early in the third quarter. Greensboro stole the lead once more before Wisconsin went on a 12-5 run to go up by six points at the five-minute mark. Greensboro hit one basket, but the Herd converted on two last-minute baskets to lead 67-57 at the end of the third quarter.
Greensboro opened the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run to come within three points. The Herd countered 11 unanswered points, improving to a double-digit lead. Wisconsin didn't slow down, pushing ahead to a 20-point advantage with less than three minutes remaining. Chris Livingston and Elijah Hughes combined for five before the Swarm ran away with eight straight baskets to make it an 11-point game with 16 seconds left. Kihei Clark secured two free throws to close out the game. The Herd beat the Swarm 97-84.
The Wisconsin Herd will host the Stockton Kings on Monday, Jan. 8 with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. CST.
