Raptors 905 Drop Season Series to Skyhawks

Raptors 905 (1-4), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, dropped the season series to the College Park Skyhawks (4-1) following a 101-104 loss Saturday evening. Javon Freeman-Liberty secured his second straight double-double with a 22-point, 13-rebound performance, adding six assists, and a block for the 905. The Skyhawks were led by hardship replacement player Trey McGowens who put up 26 points, five rebounds, six assists, two steals, and a block in the victory.

The 905 opened the ball game strong, gaining the upper hand as they led the game by eight points in the opening six minutes. The two teams traded baskets for the remainder of the first quarter with the 905 taking a 29-25 lead. The Skyhawks found their rhythm in the second quarter, outscoring the visitors 28-25 in the quarter, and bringing the game within two at the break.

The two teams played a near evenly matched third quarter, allowing the 905 to hold onto their lead going into the final frame. The Skyhawks mounted their comeback bid in the fourth quarter, outscoring the 905 29-21 and sweeping the season series.

The 905 received complementary scoring from Justise Winslow (17 points, nine rebounds) and Kevin Obanor (18 points, eight rebounds). Chris Silva paced College Park with 23 points, nine rebounds.

The 905 return to Mississauga for back-to-back matchups against the Texas Legends beginning Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. College Park closes out their homestand hosting the Delaware Blue Coats Wednesday, tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
