
Wisconsin Herd Receives First Loss of Regular Season

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Memphis Hustle 115-104. The Herd took an early lead in the first quarter but the Hustle stormed ahead 38-24. Jordan Bone and Iverson Molinar scored eight points each to keep the Herd close at the end of the first half. The Hustle charged ahead to a 14-point lead at the end of the third quarter. The Herd outscored the Hustle 19-16 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to win the match.
Lindell Wigginton set a new franchise record for assists hitting 256 career assists. Lindell also led the Herd with 20 points, five rebounds and six assists. Iverson Molinar posted a career-high 19 points while Jontay Porter posted a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds.
The Hustle was led by Dakota Mathias with 26 points followed by Kenneth Lofton Jr. with 23 points.
The Herd opened the game with back-to-back threes to grab the first lead of the game. Iverson Molinar added a layup, but the Hustle answered with a 12-0 run to go ahead 14-8. Lindell Wigginton connected on a fast break slam dunk to cut the Hustle's run. The Herd hit consecutive threes, but the Hustle continued to build their lead. Lindell Wigginton and Paris Bass combined for eight points to bring the Herd within 10 at the two-minute-mark. The Hustle remained ahead at the end of the first quarter 38-24.
The Herd outscored the Hustle 9-4 in the first three minutes of the second quarter. Iverson Molinar and Jordan Bone combined to bring the Herd within five points at the eight-minute-mark. Iverson Molinar continued the comeback with consecutive baskets. Jordan Bone hit two successive three-pointers to bring the Herd within four points with one minute left in the half. The Hustle held on to lead 67-62 at the end of the first half. Lindell Wigginton powered the Herd with 12 points in the first half.
The Hustle opened the third quarter with two baskets in a row, but Jordan Bone answered with a jump shot. The Hustle grinded to an 11-point lead at the nine-minute mark. The two teams battled back and forth. Iverson Molinar completed a three-point play and Rob Edwards hit a fast break layup. The Hustle returned with a three-point shot but Paris Bass and Iverson Molinar combined for five points to bring the Herd within nine points. The Hustle powered ahead to lead 99-85 at the end of the third quarter.
Jontay Porter completed consecutive two-point shots to open the fourth quarter for the Herd. The Hustle scored six unanswered points to go ahead 113-91. The Herd outscored the Hustle 13-2 to end the game but the Hustle closed out the Herd 115-104.
The Herd will hit the road to play the Cleveland Charge on Friday, January 13 with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. CST.
