Osceola Magic News Release
The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeat the Westchester Knicks 129-117 on Wednesday at the RP Funding Center.
The first quarter was a close battle, the Knicks started out with the lead but that would quickly change. The Magic took the lead and stayed in charge throughout the quarter. At the 4:27 mark forward Jonathan Isaac checked in and shortly after scored his first points since August 2020. Isaac scored seven first-quarter points with a perfect shooting performance. Lakeland led Westchester 34-29 at the end of the first.
Both teams fought in the second quarter to try and gain a substantial lead, the Knicks had cut the lead to just one with 6:45 remaining in the half. Knicks guard Trevor Keels battled Isaac as both players scored 13 first-half points. The Magic never gave up the lead and led the Knicks 65-63 at the end of the half.
The third quarter was all Lakeland as Magic guard Jay Scrubb caught fire scoring 11 third-quarter points. The Magic had built a double-digit lead over the Knicks to finish the third at 99-88.
The Magic built on their momentum maintaining their lead through the fourth quarter. Lakeland Magic Guard Kevon Harris had a critical fourth quarter leading the game in scoring. The Magic defeated the Knicks 129-117. "Being back on the floor I felt at peace. It helped to see some of my Orlando teammates on the court with me tonight. Seeing the standing ovation... fans wearing my jersey at the game tonight felt great. The G League is filled with great talent, it is also a great tool for players like me that are coming back from an injury," Isaac said.
Kevon Harris finished with a game-high 27 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Jonathan Isaac finished with 15 points and five rebounds off the bench in 15 minutes for the Magic.
Jalen Harris finished with 24 points for the Knicks.
