Windy City Bulls Knock-Off Nets, Freeman-Liberty Scores 26

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, beat the Long Island Nets 121-118 Wednesday night on the road. Windy City guard Javon Freeman-Liberty led all scorers with 26 points and nine rebounds off the bench.

The Bulls led for most of the first quarter, holding a 36-33 edge heading into the second period. But Windy City entered halftime trailing by 11 after a strong second frame from Long Island. Freeman-Liberty led Windy City with 14 first-half points.

Windy City fought hard to comeback, tying the game 88-88 going into the final quarter. In the final three minutes, the Bulls went on a 9-4 run to earn a three-point win over the Nets.

Windy City guard Ethan Thompson added 23 points and grabbed six rebounds. Forward Ben Coupet and center Nick King chipped in 16 points each for the Bulls.

Brooklyn Nets Assignment center Day'Ron Sharpe led the Nets with 24 points after shooting 11-for-16 from the field. Brooklyn Nets Two-Way guard David Duke Jr. finished with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds.

With the win, Windy City improved to 3-4 in the regular season, while Long Island fell to 6-3.

Next up, the Bulls return home to host the Cleveland Charge Saturday night at NOW Arena. The game is slated to tip-off at 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Chicago+.
