Wisconsin Herd Defeated by Grand Rapids Gold

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Grand Rapids Gold 131-127. The Gold held the largest lead of the game by 25 points. The Herd battled back in the fourth quarter breaking down the Gold's lead to six with eight minutes left. The Herd kept the momentum coming within two points but it was not enough to take the lead. The Gold held on to win the game.

Jalen Lecque led the Herd with a career-high 34 points while Rayjon Tucker added 21 points.

Nic Stauskas led the Gold with 57 points followed by Petr Cornelie with 17 points.

The Gold took an early lead going up 22-7 in the first quarter. Grand Rapids built their lead to 21 with three minutes left. The Herd went on a 7-0 run to come within 16 points. The Gold led at the end of the first quarter 41-24. Grand Rapids outscored the Herd 14-11 to go up 55-35. The Gold led at half 78-61. Jalen Lecque led the Herd with 17 points in the first half.

With six minutes left in the third quarter, the Gold led 92-68. The Herd cut down the Gold's lead to 17 being down 103-86 at the end of the third quarter. The Herd started the fourth quarter scoring seven unanswered points to come within 10 points. The Herd continued to cut down the Gold's lead coming within six points with eight minutes left. Sandro Mamukelashvili hit back-to-back baskets to put the Herd within two points. The Gold turned around to go up by seven and held on to win the game 131-127.

The Herd will return home to face the Capital City Go-Go in the first game of a back-to-back series on Friday, March 4 with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
