Wisconsin Herd Clinches Spot in Showcase Cup as Top Seed

Oshkosh, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, secured the top seed in the central division pod and qualified for the NBA G League Showcase Cup. The Herd will play the first game of the Showcase Cup on Sunday, December 19th, at 2:00 p.m. CST against the South Bay Lakers. Fans can watch the game on ESPN 2.

The Wisconsin Herd clinched the top seed of the central division after their win against the Iowa Wolves on Thursday, December 16th. The Herd will play the first game of the Showcase Cup on Sunday, December 19th at 2:00 p.m. CST. If the Herd wins or loses they will play another game on Tuesday, December 21st. The Showcase Cup Championship is scheduled for Wednesday, December 22nd at 4:00 p.m. CST. Fans can watch the championship on ESPNEWS.

The Showcase Cup is a single-elimination tournament featuring the top eight teams in the league. The winner of the tournament will win the Showcase Cup Championship and $100,000. Games will start on Sunday, December 19th, and run until Wednesday, December 22nd. The Showcase Cup is a part of the NBA G League Winter Showcase being held in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Teams that did not qualify for the Showcase Cup Tournament will play two games outside the tournament during the Winter Showcase event. A full schedule of all the games being played during the Winter Showcase is attached.

After the Winter Showcase, team records will be reset, and the NBA G League will start the 36-game regular season on Monday, December 27th. In the regular season, teams will compete for a playoff position for the chance to win the NBA G League Championship. The Wisconsin Herd will start the regular season at home against the Long Island Nets on December 27th with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m.
