Stars Winter Showcase Schedule Announced

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH - The NBA G League announced today the schedule for the annual AT&T NBA G League Winter Showcase at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The Salt Lake City Stars, who won the 2019 NBA G League Winter Showcase Cup, have been slated to play two games outside of the Showcase Cup Tournament from Dec. 19-22.

The Winter Showcase, one of the NBA G League's marquee events, is a single elimination where eight teams will compete for the Showcase Cup Championship.

The NBA G League season tipped off in November with all 29 teams and the NBA G League Ignite separated into four regional pods with 12 games against one another in their respective NBA G League markets. The teams with the best winning percentage in each regional pod, along with the next four teams across the league with the best winning percentages, will play for the Showcase Cup Championship during the Winter Showcase. The remaining teams will each play two games outside of the Showcase Cup Tournament during the event.

Salt Lake City (2-10) will play their first game against the Cleveland Charge (6-6) on Tuesday, Dec 21 at 7:30 p.m. (MDT). The game will be televised on NBA TV.

The Stars will complete their two-game Showcase set against the Lakeland Magic (5-7) on Wednesday, Dec 22. The teams will tip off at 6 p.m. (MDT) with the game airing on ESPN+.

Following the Winter Showcase, team records will reset and the regular season will begin on Monday, Dec. 27, bringing each team's total games played to 50.

The Stars will host the Agua Caliente Clippers on Dec. 27 at 7 p.m. at Bruin Arena at Salt Lake Community College in Taylorsville to kick off their 36-game regular season schedule.
