June 28, 2010 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Portland Winterhawks News Release
The Portland Winterhawks will host their 2010-11 home opener on Saturday, October 2 at 7 p.m. at the Rose Garden against their long-time rivals, the Seattle Thunderbirds.
The home opener will also be Nino Niederreiter bobblehead night. Fans won't want to miss their chance to get a bobblehead doll in the likeness of the Swiss superstar who was drafted fifth overall by the New York Islanders in the first round of Friday's 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
The only way to get the bobblehead doll is to purchase a 10-game, 18-game or season ticket package. Ten-game packages start at just $116. To purchase a ticket package, call 503-236-HAWK or visit winterhawks.com for more information.
The Niederreiter bobblehead is the first of 10 big giveaways this season for Winterhawks ticket package holders.
While October 2 marks the home opener, the Winterhawks will begin the 2010-11 season a week prior, when they travel to Seattle to take on the Thunderbirds on Saturday, September 25 at 7:05 p.m. The rest of the 2010-11 regular season schedule will be released later this summer, at which time single game ticket information will be available.
