Edmonton Oil Kings News Release

Edmonton, Alta- General Manager Bob Green announced today the Edmonton Oil Kings have acquired centre Jordan Hickmott from the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for Sebastian Svendsen and a 3rd round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

"First off we would like to thank Sebastian for his year of service in Edmonton," said Green. "We are extremely pleased to have Jordan join the team and feel his experience in the WHL will be a tremendous asset for us this year."

Hickmott, an overage player at 20-years-old, had 49 points (21G, 28A) last season with the Raiders as well as 31 PIM. The 6'1", 180lbs centre started his WHL career in Medicine Hat where he played 85 games in three years with the Tigers.

In 229 career games the Mission, BC native has collected 41 goals and 45 assists for 86 points.

The annual import draft will be Tuesday, June 29 and with the trade, Green says this gives the Oil Kings more flexibility. "With the departure of Sebastian we now have two spots open for the import draft." Edmonton holds the 4th and 19th picks.

The Edmonton Oil Kings will kick off the 2010-11 season on September 24 when the Red Deer Rebels come to Rexall Place. Tickets for this game and season tickets are available at www.oilkings.ca or by calling 780-414-GOAL.
