Portland, Ore. - The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club is proud to announce the signing of forward Luke Myhre to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

Myhre, 15, ranked fourth in team scoring with the Parkland Rangers 18U AAA program of the Manitoba Under 18 Hockey League (MU18HL) this season, scoring 16 goals and 16 assists in 44 games. Originally selected by the Winterhawks in the fifth round, #105 overall, of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft, Myhre recorded 46 points in 31 games to lead the Parkland Rangers U15 club in scoring during his WHL draft-eligible season. The Dauphin, Man. native also brings leadership qualities to Portland, serving as captain of the Rangers during the 2021-22 season.

"It is exciting for the organization to sign Luke Myhre and we are thankful for his commitment following his season with Parkland U18 in Manitoba," Assistant to the General Manager and Director of Scouting Mike Coflin said. "During the second half of the year, Luke's game really elevated and his drive to be a top player was impressive. He is a dedicated player and elite academic student who will contribute to our team environment every day as a future Winterhawk."

The 6-foot-1, 165-pound forward from Dauphin, Man. skated with Team Rattie during the Winterhawks' annual Neely Cup training camp, scoring one goal and winning the 2022 Neely Cup championship. He becomes the fourth player from Portland's 2022 WHL Prospects Draft class to sign with the team, joining forwards Kyle McDonough (Rd. 2, #40), Ryan Miller (Rd. 3, #66), and Kayd Ruedig (Rd. 4, #84).
