Winterhawks Seek Revenge Against Giants Tonight

Sven Bartschi and the Portland Winterhawks (34-15-2-1) host Jordan Martinook and the Vancouver Giants (31-19-1-2) for the second straight meeting between the teams in Western Hockey League action on Monday.

The Winterhawks saw their franchise-record home-ice winning streak halted at 19 games with Saturday's defeat to the Giants, and currently sit in second place in the U.S. Division and third in the conference. The Winterhawks' last loss at home before Saturday night's defeat to Vancouver came on October 14th to the visiting Kamloops Blazers. Bartschi has scored 15 goals and 47 assists in just 33 games this season.

The Giants edged the Winterhawks 3-2 in Portland on Saturday night for their third straight win, and currently sit tied with Spokane for fourth place in the Western Conference. The Giants' last three wins have come versus three of the WHL's top four teams. Martinook scored the winner, his 30th of the season, with just 29 seconds to go in the third period of Saturday's victory over the Hawks.

It's the fourth and final meeting of the season between the Winterhawks and Giants.
