Portland Winterhawks News Release
Portland, Ore. - The 2022-23 Portland Winterhawks season officially starts when the team hosts its annual Neely Cup Training Camp with on-ice sessions beginning Thursday, Sept. 1 and running through Sunday, Sept. 4.
In total, 74 players ranging in age from 15 to 20 years old will participate in this year's training camp. The event marks the first time the 2021 and 2022 draft classes will have the chance to skate at a Winterhawks training camp and experience Portland as a Winterhawks prospect.
All four days of on-ice sessions will take place at Veterans Memorial Coliseum and are open to the public. Season Ticket Holders have free admission to the Neely Cup and all other fans can get their first glimpse of the Winterhawks for just $5 per day or $15 for all four days. Complimentary parking will be available all week at the Rose Quarter's Garden Garage.
Season Ticket Holders can access their Neely Cup tickets directly through their Winterhawks Ticketmaster account. All other fans can purchase a $5 ticket in advance by contacting the Winterhawks Ticket Office at 503-236-4295 or in person at the Winterhawks Ticket Office.
The Neely Cup has camp participants divided into four inter-squad teams named after prominent Winterhawks alumni. This year the Winterhawks are honoring players who were top playoff performers during their time in Portland - Nic Petan (WHL's all-time playoff games played leader, 88), Ty Rattie (WHL's all-time playoff goals leader, 50), Mac Carruth (WHL's all-time playoff wins leader, 49), and Derrick Pouliot (Winterhawks' all-time defensive playoff points leader, 73)
