Oil Kings Announce Training Camp Schedule

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings will open training camp on Wednesday, August 31 ahead of their 2022-23 Western Hockey League season, the team announced today.

The Oil Kings will have 69 players (40 forwards, 21 defencemen and eight goalies) attending training camp. All on-ice activity will be run by head coach Luke Pierce and his coaching staff at the Downtown Community Arena.

The camp will run from Wednesday, August 31 and will conclude on Monday, September 5 with the Oil Kings annual Bob McGill Cup intrasquad game.

Training camp will be closed to the public until Monday, September 5 when fans are encouraged to come down to the DCA to check out the Bob McGill Cup.

The Oil Kings open their 2022-23 WHL regular season on Friday, September 23 with their home opener and WHL Championship banner raising night against the Red Deer Rebels.
