WINSTON-SALEM, NC (APRIL 28, 2010) - The Dash offense ripped through Frederick pitching once again and pounded the Keys for a 13-3 victory on Wednesday night at BB&T Ballpark. The win was the third straight for Winston-Salem and it clinched the series victory.

Frederick (11-8) grabbed an early for the second straight night with a run in the second inning. Ronnie Welty made it 2-0 in the third with a solo home run, his league-leading sixth off the season off starter Nevin Griffth (4-0).

The Dash rallied in the bottom of the third against Keys starter Cole McCurry (1-1). Justin Greene curled his second homer of the season around the left field foul pole to halve the Frederick lead. Brandon Short followed with a single, extending his hitting streak to 16 games. After a walk and a groundout, Seth Loman tied the game with an RBI single to right. Ozzie Lewis followed suit with run-scoring single to give the Dash a 3-2 lead. Luis Sierra finished off the four-run third with an RBI groundout.

Winston-Salem (14-5) did not relent in the fourth, pushing three more runs across against McCurry. Two scored on RBI hits by Short and Loman, while another came home on a passed ball.

The Dash essentially put the game away one inning later, scoring five runs beginning with Drew Garcia's solo home run off the bridge in right. Short, Jon Gilmore, Loman, and Lewis each drove in runs to give Winston a 12-2 advantage.

Gilmore's single pushed his hitting streak to 15 games and drove in his 12th run of the season.

The Dash tacked on a run in the eighth, as the Keys also added one in the ninth to produce the final tally.

Five Winston-Salem players finished with multiple hits, while four had two or more RBI. Loman led the offense with a 3 for 5 night, driving in three runs. It was the second-straight 14-hit game for the Dash, which owns the best batting average in professional baseball at .313 on the season.

Greene homered, was hit by a pitch, and tripled in his first three plate appearances. Dating back to Sunday afternoon, Greene reached base in nine straight plate appearances before flying out in the sixth inning of Wednesday's game.

Griffith worked five effective innings for his fourth win in as many starts. McCurry was tagged for seven runs (six earned) in 3.2 innings and took the loss.

Winston-Salem goes for the sweep on Thursday night when RHP Stephen Sauer (0-0, 6.32) opposes Keys RHP Kenny Moreland (1-0, 2.25). First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. The pre-game show begins at 6:45 on www.wsdash.com.
