BARNUM, MARIN LEAD DASH TO WIN Keon Barnum matched a career high with four hits, and Terance Marin logged a career-best eight innings in Winston-Salem's 3-0 victory over the Carolina Mudcats on Monday night at BB&T Ballpark. Barnum's leadoff homer in the sixth capped the Dash's scoring, which also included a two-run fourth. This was enough for Marin, who limited Carolina to just two hits for his second win. He retired the final 13 Muddies he faced before Kyle Hansen stranded the bases loaded in the ninth for his first save of 2014.

A HUGE JUNE Through the end of May, Barnum possessed a batting average of .197. However, the Tampa, Fla., native has increased that mark 48 points to a season-high .245 thanks to a huge month of June (.333 in 26 games). He capped this surge with his second four-hit game in the last eight games on Monday. Before these two monster showings, Barnum had only notched one game of four hits in his Minor League career. Since the All-Star break, Barnum is hitting .404 (19-for-47) with three homers, six RBIs and 11 runs scored.

SAME FOR MARIN Marin has also had an eventful month, and he has closed it with three sensational outings in the Dash purple. In his 19 innings with Winston-Salem since the White Sox resigned Marin from independent Evansville, he has given up just one earned run in 19 innings. He had never worked more than 6.2 innings in a Minor League start before this run, but he went seven innings in his first outing back with the Dash and bested that mark on Monday night.

ANOTHER START FOR OLACIO Winston-Salem southpaw Jefferson Olacio will make his fourth start of the season on Tuesday. Olacio has not surrendered an earned run in any of his previous starts, two of which came in the back end of a twin bill. He blanked Frederick in a season-high four innings on Friday. Last season, Olacio made 25 starts with Low-A Kannapolis.

BREAKING THE BROOMS Monday capped the 96th series in BB&T Ballpark's four-and-a-half year history, and Winston-Salem has still only suffered two home sweeps there. In fact, the Dash's series with Carolina was just the 11th time that an opponent was on the precipice of a sweep entering the finale. The Dash avoided a home brooming in their first 81 series at BB&T Ballpark before Salem rattled off three straight from August 14-16, 2013. Frederick also accomplished the feat in a rain-altered three-game series this April. For comparison, the Dash have earned 19 series sweeps in the BB&T Ballpark era.

ONE CONTINUES; ANOTHER STOPS Both Joey DeMichele and Jacob May entered Monday's game with a nine-game hitting streak. DeMichele's third-inning double clinched the sixth double-digit hit streak by a Dash hitter in 2014. During this spurt, the former Arizona State star is hitting .333 (13-for-39) with six RBIs and three runs scored. On the flip side, May's torrid nine-game stretch came to an end due to an 0-for-3 day. May, who is the reigning Carolina League Player of the Week, posted an average of .474 (18-for-38) with 14 runs scored and 11 stolen bases during the streak.

MAY'S JUNE May finished the month of June with a .366 average after hitting .136 in April and .257 in May. The former Coastal Carolina star led all of Minor League Baseball with 20 stolen bases, which were three more than any other player. His 27 runs were tied for second, one shy of Lancaster's Conrad Gregor for the MiLB lead.

DASH DOTS With his fourth-inning homer Monday, Jason Coats is now tied with Courtney Hawkins and Frederick's Michael Burgess for second place in the CL with 13 homers...Coats is tied for third with 52 RBIs, seven shy of Hawkins for the top spot on the circuit...Myrtle Beach claimed five of the first six meetings between these two clubs.
