Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

O'Sullivan hit a belt-high fastball from Mackintosh over the left-field wall with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth (Mackintosh had walked the bases loaded) to give the RiverHawks a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over the visiting Winnipeg Goldeyes.

The Goldeyes had built a 3-0 lead through 5 1/2 innings against Rockford starter Brett Durand as Wes Long, who extended his hitting-streak to 10 games, hit a first-inning solo homer, Aharon Eggleston doubled home Dee Brown in the third and then Juan Diaz hit a solo homer - his 15th home run of the season - in the fourth.

The Goldeyes had a chance to score another run in the fourth, but Dee Brown was thrown out at the plate by left fielder Kevin House, as he tried to score from second on a single by Long.

In the end, however, that single mistake by Mackintosh combined with the fact Durand, Emary Frederick and Scott Roehl shut down the Goldeyes after the fourth, left the Fish on the wrong side of a 4-3 decision, ended the Goldeyes two-game winning streak and dropped Winnipeg to 30-32 on the season.

Durand (6-5) got the win. Mackintosh (0-2), who allowed only four hits, suffered his second one-run loss. Roehl picked up his 12th save.

The Goldeyes and RiverHawks will wrap up their three-game series Thursday night at Road Ranger Stadium in Rockford. It will feature a pair of lefties going head-to-head: Roger Lincoln (4-5, 6.29 ERA) for Rockford and Chris Salamida (7-4, 5.29 ERA) for the Goldeyes. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and it can be heard live in Winnipeg on 1290 CFRW.
